One Young World

One Young World is the world's first global youth leadership summit. Featuring international role models such as Kofi Annan, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof, Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus and former President of Peru Alejandro Toledo, One Young World brought together several hundred delegates age 25 and under from the world's 192 countries. The inaugural London summit in February 2010 was also open to the entire world through online streaming and real time web casts.
As a youth leadership summit with an expressly global focus, One Young World recognised the responsibility in making the summit accessible to as many people around the world as possible.
Unspun, brought in to produce the opening ceremony of One Young World, utilised Dimension Audio to supply the audio facilities for the prestigious affair held in Old Billingsgate market and opened by a 200 strong children’s choir. The ceremony was closed with a performance from English singer-songwriter Corrine Bailey Rae with Dimension Audio providing a M7CL desk for front of house with a Digidesigne profile for the band. d&b Q series and F2 B1 stacks speakers were used for the PA system alongside DiGiCo SD8 for monitors. Video facilities were provided by Creative Technology.
Separate feeds to the world’s press and a live web cast were also provided in keeping with the global communication theme.
Founded by David Jones, global CEO of Havas Worldwide, and Kate Robertson, Euro RSCG group chairman, One Young World gathers together a formal body of young people to address the most challenging issues of today. The several hundred delegates are chosen to proportionally represent the world’s nations as a united international group.
